We are very honoured to welcome the Dokkyo Saitama Junior & Senior High School Wind Orchestra to the Mid Europe 2010!

| The Dokkyo Saitama Junior and Senior High School Wind Orchestra consists of 190 members, 70 of them are between 13 and 15 years old. The name Dokkyo High School means in German “The German Academic Association” and the school wishes to understand the culture of the German-speaking area better. The motto of the High School Wind Orchestra is “Music with Soul”. The goal of the players’ music-making is to try to understand the core of the music. The wide-ranging repertoire of the Orchestra extends from the classics via cinema music to jazz. They perform regulary concerts and this year they have achieved its 21st concert series.

Haruo KISHIMOTO was born in Tokyo in 1948. He studied trumpet at the Musashino Music College and graduated in 1971. He teaches at the Dokkyo Saitama Junior and Senior High School. He has appeared in numerous concerts with various orchestras and as a soloist with jazz groups.
