D-01: International Masterclass for Conducting with Henrie Adams, ESP (€)

Place: Stadtsaal and DTH - Seminar room / Date: 12.7. - 16.7.2010

Description: The master course takes place from the 12th July – 16th July, 2010 within the scope of the Workshop programm of Mid Europe. The works from the cited list of books compile a limited number of active participants and test the qualified also in practical exercises with a professional course orchestra. Language of instruction is German and English. Beside the active participation in the master class the possibility of the passive participation also exists. The passive participants can be present during the whole time at the Workshop and are included in the discussions as well as in the lessons. As an end of the master class the active participants present her work with Henrie Adams and direct within the scope of Mid Europe 2010 a concert in the Dachstein-Tauern-Hall. In addition to this you would have the opportunity to do an internship with the maestro and the WYWOP (WorldYouthWindOrchestra).

Course instructor: Henrie Adams, ESP+NL  (Course language: German, English, Spanish and Dutsch)      
Henrie Adams was born in Thorn (The Netherlands) and studied the oboe and conducting at the Maastricht Conservatory of Music. His teachers were Anton Kersjes, Lukas Vis and Pierre Kuijpers. He attended master classes in orchestral conducting with Pierre Dervaux and Enrique Garcia Asensio.
He was principal conductor of the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta” of Maastricht, of the symphonic bands “Union” of Heythuysen and “Eendracht” of Meyel, and also of the Youth Orchestra of the Valencian Community (1992-1999). He was invited as guest conductor by the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra, the Madrid Municipal Band and the Valencia Symphony Orchestra. Since 1989 he is principal conductor of both the symphonic band and the orchestra of the Sociedad Musical “la Artística” of Buñol.
In July 2001 he obtained with this band the title of “World Champion” at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (The Netherlands) with the highest score in the Concert Division. He made more than 20 cd's with this orchestra for World Wind Music. On this CD Henrie Adams is guest conductor of the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides.
