SJBO - Sinfonisches Blasorchester Wien, AT

The wind orchestra from Vienna will represent the Wind Music Association of Vienna at the Mid Europe 2010!

For the Viennese wind music, an institution that one can not think away from the cultural and social life, and which has a long tradition of successful composers and musical directors it is not that easy to find young talented musicians for his musical bands. In order to counteract this trend, in autumn 2003, the SYMPHONIC VIENNA YOUTH WIND ORCHESTRA was founded by Herbert Klinger from the National Association of wind music Vienna in partnership with the music schools in the city of Vienna created to inspire more young people for the wind music. The young people learn about a project basis brass literature, with which they are confronted in the clubs and brass bands in the music school little. Despite the short existence, it could only be inspired, one or the other for the fascination of brass music.
The first major concert of the orchestra took place in April 2004 at the Wiener Konzerthaus. There are now twice a year, the concert series "Mundstücke", where the orchestra has performed at the Vienna Konzerthaus. These concerts are listed above all new Austrian compositions. Through the good cooperation with the "Austrian Composers Association" could be 14 world premieres presented by the orchestra in recent years the audience. Furthermore, various instrumental soloists and could be invited (the Vienna Philharmonic, RSO - Vienna, etc.) to make music with the orchestra. At the concert series "Mundstücke" guest orchestras are invited to promote musical exchanges of young people and bring them to the Viennese public's high level of Austrian youth orchestra in more detail.

In addition to the series of concerts the orchestra is a welcome guest at various events and projects.
